We made a few adjustments to our Eastern Canada walking adventure designed to shorten the overall itinerary and place more emphasis on the Maritimes proper and fascinating Newfoundland. When we talk about “the Maritime provinces”, we are really referring only to New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia. Part 1 of this Adventure is titled Québec & the Maritimes, starting in Portland, Maine and ending in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We seriously considered featuring only the Maritimes, but have had such great experiences walking in Quebec that we’re starting the program with a drive into French Canada, spending two nights in Québec City, and finishing our Québec experience with a memorable cruise to the St. Lawrence River island of Grosse Ile. On the Maritimes segment of the program, an extra night has been added to Baddeck, on Cape Breton Island, to better appreciate this scenic and historic slice of Nova Scotia. An extra day has also been allotted to the Halifax area, giving more time to savor the delights of this fascinating city and charming Lunenburg, where we’ve added a walk.
NOTE: This Adventure may be combined with Heritage of Newfoundland, 6 more days of walks and sightseeing on the remote and charming island province of Newfoundland. Travelers participating in both Québec & the Maritimes and Heritage of Newfoundland will receive a $100 rebate off the combined tour price. |
