16 Days  |  10 Walks

  • Alaska, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, Alberta, British Columbia Start and finish in Seattle
Guides: Lee & Loraine Dummer

One of our most extraordinary Adventures takes us far above the Arctic Circle, giving travelers a strong dose of the vast expanses of North America far from the influences of dot-com civilization. We’ll drive from Seattle into Canada, across the majestic Canadian Rockies with walks at Banff and Lake Louise to Calgary for the heart-stopping Chuckwagon Races of the Calgary Stampede. A flight across the Arctic Circle takes us to visit the Inuit clan in Tuktoyaktuk, on the shores of the Arctic Ocean. From Tuk, an epic drive across the tundra on the Dempster Highway leads to Dawson City, base for the storied Klondike Gold Rush of the 1890’s. A train ride down to Skagway, Alaska and a boat ride through the Inside Passage to Juneau round out this multi-dimensional Adventure before flying back to Seattle!

Highlights

  • Cruising the Inside Passage from Juneau to Skagway
  • Way up North walks in Juneau, Skagway, Dawson City, Tuktoyaktuk, Banff, Lake Louise, and the Hope Tunnels
  • Flying above the Arctic Circle tundra from Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk
  • The memorable White Pass & Yukon Route train trip from Skagway
  • A day in the company of the locals in the Inuit village of Tuktoyaktuk on the banks of the Arctic Ocean
