Walking Québec, the Maritimes, & Newfoundland |
Already Walked for 2010!
We are excited to present the return of our Maritimes Canada Adventure! Walking Québec, the Maritimes, & Newfoundland is a two-part Adventure that can be taken in part or as a whole, and features a charming cross-section of Eastern Canada!
Québec & the Maritime Provinces (Part 1) offers a delightful medley of walks, including the capitals of all four provinces: Québec City, Fredericton, Charlottetown, and Halifax. In addition, the Old World delights of Québec City, the pastoral charms of Prince Edward Island, the postcard-perfect maritime scenes of Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick’s Bay of Fundy tidal surprises beckon travelers to wander through the landscapes of Maritimes Canada.
Part 2 of this Adventure, Heritage of Newfoundland, is truly a unique land distinct in many ways from its sister provinces. Newfoundland is Canada’s newest and easternmost province. The spirit of independence and commitment to the unique island culture that kept them separate from neighboring Canadian provinces until the 1940’s is still evident today! The exclusive “Newfie” warmth, hospitality, and sense of humor makes Newfoundland a truly special corner of North America. Newfoundland is often the overlooked segment of this tour—but if you check with your WAI Adventure guides, you’ll find that the 7 days spent on this Eastern province form their favorite part of the trip!
"WAI continues to make our trips an adventure and always leaves us with fond memories that will last forever."

Québec City – Rivière-du-Loup, Québec (B)
Our Adventure continues today with a narrated cruise along the fabled St. Lawrence Seaway aboard Le Coudrier de l’Isle to picturesque Grosse-Ile (Gross Island). From Grosse-Ile, we continue to Rivière-du-Loup for our last night in French Canada.

Halifax, one of the oldest and most interesting cities in Eastern Canada, is the focus of today's walk and activities.
