Seattle, overlooking Washington’s Puget Sound, provides the jumping off
point for this Mini-Adventure in the Northwest corner of the USA and Canada.
We’ll cruise through the lovely San Juan Islands to Friday Harbor for a
night and a walk. Victoria, on the southeast tip of Vancouver Island,
beckons us for two nights, a wonderful walk, and a visit to Butchart
Gardens. We’ll finish with another ferry ride to Vancouver, British Columbia
and a walk in Stanley Park before returning to Seattle. Join us this fall
for an autumn Adventure in this delightful corner of Canada and the
Northwest! |

Travelers arrive into the Emerald City today anticipating a memorable Adventure through the pastoral autumn pan- oramas of the Pacific Northwest. Plan to arrive early in the
day so you can join us for a late afternoon welcome walk through the lovely Queen Anne Hill neighborhood with sweeping views of Elliot Bay, the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, and downtown Seattle. A "Get Acquainted" dinner is a perfect way to finish our first evening together.

Our day begins with a coach ride north to Anacortes on the Puget Sound. Here we'll catch a ferry bound for the San Juan Islands; our destination is Friday Harbor. Upon arrival, we'll check into our hotel, enjoy a lunch break in
this picturesque island village, then board our whale cruise boat for an expedition in search of killer whales-the fabled and formidable Orcas.

SAN JUAN ISLAND-VICTORIA, B.C. (B)
San Juan Island Friday HarborWalk 11 km, rated 2
Today's walk route offers wonderful views of the Puget Sound waters from the coastline of San Juan Island, and provides walkers with ample opportunities for window- shopping in delightful Friday Harbor. This afternoon, we'll board our second ferry for a crossing over the Haro Strait to Victoria, provincial capital of British Columbia, Canada.

ACTIVITIES IN VICTORIA (B)
Victoria Beacon Hill Walk 10 km, rated 1
We'll spend this morning on a walk that showcases Victoria highlights like the Inner Harbour, Fishermen's Wharf, and Beacon Hill Park. Following the walk, we'll visit the world- famous Butchart Gardens where over 1 million bedding plants of 700 varieties are planted each year. Back in Victoria this evening, enjoy your last opportunity to soak in the merry ol' England ambiance of this charming seaside city.

Historic Vancouver Walk 10 km, rated 2
This morningʼs final ferry ride takes us to the Canadian mainland. Weʼll spend the afternoon exploring historic Vancouver with a walk through Gastown, Chinatown, and the waterfront area of this beautiful city tucked majestically between the Coast Range and a ring of Pacific Ocean waters snaking inland from the Strait of Georgia.

VANCOUVER-SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (B,D)
Stanley Park Walk 10 km, rated 2+
Considered to be North America's third largest urban park, Stanley Park boasts a Seawall Walk that encircles the penin- sula and offers wonderful views of downtown Vancouver, the Burrard Inlet, Lion's Gate Bridge, and English Bay. Following time for lunch in historic Gastown, we'll cross the Burrard Inlet to Lynn Canyon where we'll walk across the suspension bridge and through towering old growth forest. A final coach ride takes us back into Washington State for a Farewell Dinner in Seattle.

We say fond farewells this morning to walking friends new and old, and return home from Victoria, Vancouver, & the San Juan Islands with a new appreciation for this blessed corner of creation!
