Gary and Kathie are native Pacific Northwesterners who hail from just down the road here in Vancouver, Washington. After retiring from his first career with Franz Bakery, Gary embarked on a second with AAA Travel, while Kathie worked in administrative positions for bankers, doctors, and pastors, and ran her own medical transcription business. Gary and Kathie have explored most of the 50 states, sometimes with their kids and grandkids, but after thirteen years of planning travel for others with AAA, they eagerly consented to join the WAI team and broaden their horizons even further by embarking on a third career leading walking adventures to some of the most amazing destinations on the planet.
